MORAINE, Ohio (AP) — Police say a man shot two people at a General Motors engine factory in Ohio, killing one and wounding another before wounding himself.Officers and firefighters responded just after 9 p.m. Thursday to a report of an active shooter at the DMAX plant, Moraine Police Sgt. Andrew Parish said.Parish said the suspect “targeted” the two victims. One died at the scene and the other was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect also shot himself and was transported to a hospital for treatment, Parish said. Other people were injured while the workplace was being evacuated, he said.The DMAX plant in Moraine provides diesel engines for pickup trucks, according to the General Motors website. DENVER (KDVR) -- The Cherry Creek School District says Campus Middle School will be closed on Friday due to a power outage caused by flooding.The school said it doesn't believe the power can be restored until the weekend. FLINT, Michigan (WNEM) — A 2-week-old puppy was pulled from the back of a garbage truck in Flint after it was left in a garbage bag on the side of the road.TV5′s James Felton spoke to the worker who went in headfirst to rescue the pup.“I started hearing a sound, and I thought at first it could’ve been a rat or rodent,” said Bobby Brooks, a loader for Priority Waste.However, what Brooks heard inside a trash bag along his pickup route in Flint on Wednesday, May 17 was different.“We seen the face of a puppy,” Brooks said.He said the 2-week-old puppy was at the bottom of his truck. New York (CNN) — Korean automakers Kia and Hyundai have agreed to an estimated $200 million class action legal settlement over claims that many of the companies’ cars and SUVs are much too easy to steal.The settlement, which could cover up to nine million vehicle owners, provides a total of up to $145 million that will be distributed to owners whose vehicles have been stolen to help cover their out-of-pocket losses.This could include payments of up to $6,125 per owner for the complete loss of their vehicle as well as payments for damage to the vehicle and to personal property for up to $3,375.
